The White House Decoration

First Lady Jacqueline Kennedy enlisted decorator Dorothy Parish of decorating firm Parish Hadley and the firm Maison Jansen Inc. to help with the restoration of The White House shortly after President Kennedy took office in 1961. This collection of designs for the restoration project represent the work in progress. In addition, designs for the place settings and flowers for the many State Dinners entertaining foreign dignitaries were meticulously documented by photographs in kept in notebooks.
