Physical DescriptionPair of brass bookends with a high relief of a spread eagle holding an American shield in its talons. The shield overlays a pair of fouled anchors.
Historical NoteThese bookends were displayed on a shelf in the Oval Office of the White House during the Kennedy Administration from 1961 to 1963.
