Physical DescriptionWWI Italian Military valore medal inscribed "Ernest Miller Hemingway" "Al Valore Militare". Silver medal with blue silk ribbon. Obverse has the Arms of Savoy, surmounted by a crow in an oval. Below are a palm and laurel branch tied at base with a ribbon around the whole, the words AL VALORE MILITARE. The reverse has the name and title of the recipient engraved at the center, while around the outer edge are the words SPEDIZIONE D'ORIENTE 1855-1856, in relief.
