Physical DescriptionFemale doll with wood body. Doll is dressed in red and green ribbed silk dress with gold thread embroidery. Magenta velvet jacket with gold embroidery. Red tarboosh or fez has gold coins sewn to it. White cotton veil covering tarboosh denotes that she is married.
Historical NoteThe traditional bridal dress (malak) and headdress (shatweh) of the female doll identify her as a bride
Additional DetailsCustodial History NoteItem was a gift to President and Mrs. Kennedy from Ayoub Mussallam, Mayor of Bethlehem. It was donated to the John F. Kennedy Presidential Library by the Estate of President John F. Kennedy in 1965.
