Physical DescriptionSmall medal, to be worn on a dress uniform, suspended from a blue and white stripe ribbon, with a profile raised image of John F. Kennedy at center. The legend of the medal is a raised inscription: "Ancient and Honorable Artillery Co./ 1638 Massachusetts 1961/ John Fitzgerald Kennedy." The inscription in the exurgue: "President of the United States of America." The reverse of the medal bears a raised inscription: "I. Jerome O'Connor Captain Commanding/ Inaugural Parade Washington DC 20 January 1961." The center is inscribed: "President John F. Kenndy of the United States 1."

Additional DetailsCustodial History NoteItem was a gift from the Ancient and Honorable Artillery Company of Massachusetts to the President and Mrs. Kennedy received by the Executive Office of the President in 1961 and held by the General Service Administration until it was donated to the John F. Kennedy Presidential Library and Museum by the Estate of President John F. Kennedy in 1965.
