Historical NoteThis tie, from John F. Kennedy's personal wardrobe, was worn by President Kennedy. John F. Kennedy was a frequent wearer of Christian Dior ties. While often associated with American preppy staples like Brooks Brothers, JFK's transition to a sharper, more continental European style in the 1960s included a preference for narrower, silk ties from the French fashion house.
Additional DetailsCustodial History NoteThis tie was donated to the John F. Kennedy Presidential Library by the Estate of Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis through the John F. Kennedy Library Foundation in 2009. It was previously owned by President Kennedy and was a part of his personal wardrobe.
