Physical DescriptionBernard Baruch distinguished service medal with relief of Baruch in profile in center. Reverse has insignia of the Veterans of Foreign Wars in center and is embossed: For His Contribution to the Cause of American Unity and World Peace/Awarded to President John F. Kennedy/Veterans of Foreign Wars of the United States. Awarded to John F. Kennedy on February 7th, 1961 for his forthright demonstration that our country is truly one nation under God, indivisible in its loyalty to the basic principles of human freedom.
Historical NoteAwarded to John F. Kennedy on February 8th, 1961 by the Veterans of Foreign Wars. The medal was presented to President Kennedy by Ted C. Connell, National Commander in Cheif of the VFW and John W. Mahan, former National Commander in Chief of the VFW.
