Physical DescriptionOriginal cartoon drawing. Two men, "Management" and "Union Bosses", wrapped in cobwebs, sit atop a girder, "Steel Strike". A grappling claw, "Taft Hartley" is rapidly dropping down on them, while a man, "John Q", trapped beneath the girder, looks up and smiles. Caption reads: "Ike Starts The Machinery".

Custodial History NoteItem was given to John F. Kennedy in 1959 by the artist and donated to the John F. Kennedy Presidential Library and Museum in 1965 by the Estate of President Kennedy. It was held by the John F. Kennedy Presidential Library Archives until it was transferred to the Museum Collection in 2024.
