Physical DescriptionBreton hat in natural straw with a navy grosgrain ribbon tied in a bow at the back of the brim.
Historical NoteThis hat was worn by Mrs. John F. Kennedy for the welcoming ceremony at the National Airport in Washington D.C. on April 11, 1962 for Mohammad Reza Shah Pahlavi and Shabanou Farah Diba, the shah and empress of Iran.

Custodial History NoteItem is from the personal collection of President and Mrs. Kennedy. It was donated to the John F. Kennedy Presidential Library and Museum by the Estate of President John F. Kennedy in 1965.
