Physical DescriptionEnamel miniature portrait of the Russian Composer, Pyotr (Peter) Ilyich Tchaikovsky. Tchaikovsky composed several ballets including Swan Lake, first performed by the Bolshoi Theater in Moscow in 1877, and the Nutcracker.
Historical NoteThis portait of Tchaikovsky was presented to the President and Mrs. Kennedy by the Bolshoi Ballet Company on November 13, 1962 during a performance at the Loew Capital Theater in Washington D.C.
Additional DetailsCustodial History NoteArtifact was presented to President and Mrs. Kennedy in 1962 in person. It was deeded to the government by the Estate of President John F. Kennedy 2/15/65.
