Physical DescriptionSingle cast bronze bookend with the insignia of Harvard on front in low relief. The insignia depicts a shield with the word 'veritas' in raised lettering spelled on open books across the center. This shield is enclosed within a circle inscribed along its outer edge: SIGILLVM ACADEMIAE HARVARDIANAE IN NOV-ANG.
Historical NoteThis bookend belonged to John F. Kennedy while he was a student at Harvard University.
Additional DetailsCustodial History NoteItem is from the personal collection of President Kennedy. It was donated to the John F. Kennedy Presidential Library and Museum by Mrs. Joseph P. Kennedy in 1978.
