Physical DescriptionGold plated metal key with "City of El Paso" on shaft and "9/11/60" on end. Embossed on reverse: "The Fabulous City of the Southwest". A round disc attached to key is engraved: "To Hon. John F. Kennedy/From Mayor Raymond L. Telles, Jr."
Historical NoteThis Key to the City was presented to Senator John F. Kennedy on September 11, 1960 by the Mayor of El Paso Texas, Raymond L Telles during JFK's campaign stop for the 1960 Presidential election.

Custodial History NoteItem was presented to Senator John F. Kennedy in 1960 and held by the General Service Administration until it was donated to the John F. Kennedy Presidential Library and Museum by the Estate of President John F. Kennedy in 1965.
