Physical DescriptionNavy blue wool United States Navy jacket. Double breasted jacket with 6 gold colored metal buttons with raised eagle motif. Notched rolled collar, left chest welt pocket, two front hip welt pockets. 5/8 in. wide gold metallic braid above sleeve hems, small insignia patches with raised gold metal bullion embroidered stars stitched to center of sleeve above braid.
Historical NoteThis jacket was worn by John F. Kennedy while he served in the United States Navy in WWII.
Additional DetailsCustodial History NoteThe Navy jacket belonged to John F. Kennedy as part of his Naval uniform. It was donated to the John F. Kennedy Presidential Library and Museum by Rose Kennedy, John F. Kennedy's mother, in 1975.
