Physical DescriptionTwo-piece charcoal and white pinstripe suit: Twill weave wool jacket and trousers.
Single breasted coat with two buttons and notched rolled collar.Three front welt pockets, one inner left front pockets, two piece straight sleeves with four button plackets. Jacket is fully lined with no back vent.
Trousers are flat front with straight legs and cuffs. Sharped creases in legs, four pockets, belt loops, fly front closure with a metal zipper and metal hook fastener.

Historical NoteThis suit was part of Senator John F. Kennedy’s personal wardrobe, crafted by John Morgan—the bespoke tailor JFK favored throughout his Senate years and into his presidency. Kennedy owned several pinstripe and chalk-stripe suits in various shades of navy and gray. This particular piece features tonal gray stripes, which offer a softer, more sophisticated look than a stark white pinstripe, creating a subtle yet authoritative texture.
Additional DetailsCustodial History NoteThis suit was previously owned by President John F. Kennedy. After his death, it was bequeath to Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis. It was held in courtesy storage at the John F. Kennedy Presidential Library and donated to the John F. Kennedy Library Foundation in 1995 by Estate of Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis. Ownership was transferred to the John F. Kennedy Presidential Library Museum collection by the Foundation in 2009.
