Physical DescriptionBrown felt fedora hat with wide grosgrain ribbon band, bow at proper left side. Ivory fabric inner lining printed in black, red and gold with shield, "Cavanagh" above, "Cavanagh Hats/ New York" below.
Historical NoteThis hat was worn by John F. Kennedy in 1961.

Custodial History NoteItem was part of the personal collection of President Kennedy, it was donated to the John F. Kennedy Library Foundation Inc. by the Estate of Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis in 1996. Ownership was transferred from the John F. Kennedy Foundation to the John F. Kennedy Library and Museum in 2009 through a Deed of Gift.
