John Morgan & Co.
John Morgan & Co. was a prestigious British tailoring house led by the renowned John King Wilson, one of Savile Row’s most prominent figures. Founded in 1825 by John Morgan, originally as "Army and Military Tailors" during the Napoleonic wars. By 1955, the firm held a long-standing reputation, having received the Royal Warrant in 1836 and serving as official tailors to the Bank of England for over a century. The shop was historically located at 5 Albemarle Street, a property John Morgan purchased in 1825.
Despite its shop being bombed twice by the Luftwaffe during World War II, the company rebuilt and continued its legacy of handmade, high-quality garments.
John Morgan & Co was a centerpiece of high-end bespoke tailoring, famously serving both President John F. Kennedy and Prime Minister Harold Macmillan simultaneously—the only Savile Row house ever to do so. Today, the brand continues to operate, maintaining its focus on premium bespoke menswear and shirts.
