Thomas Furber

Thomas Furber began as an apprentice to Daniel Fowle, who established The New Hampshire Gazette—the state's first newspaper. The Portsmouth, Furber and Russell publishing partnership refers to the pioneering 18th-century newspaper and printing firm in Portsmouth, New Hampshire. The operation is closely tied to Ezekiel Russell, who partnered with Portsmouth native Thomas Furber to run the local press.
