Physical DescriptionIlluminated and calligraphed document written in Gaelic, in black and colored inks. The document honors President John F. Kennedy as a freeman of Galway. It is signed by the Mayor of Galway, Padraig O'Riain. The seal of the city of Galway is drawn at the top.
Historical NoteThis resolution was presented to President John F. Kennedy by the Mayor of Galway, Patrick D. Ryan during the President Kennedy's State visit to Ireland June 29, 1963. It was contained inside the Freedom of the City of Galway Casket.

Custodial History NoteItem was a gift to President and Mrs. Kennedy from Patrick D. Ryan, Mayor of Galway, Ireland. It was donated to the John F. Kennedy Presidential Library by the Estate of President John F. Kennedy in 1965.
