Physical DescriptionCut crystal, round ashtray with straight sides and a flat bottom. The bottom interior of the ashtray is engraved with the Kennedy coat-of-arms.
Historical NoteGiven to President Kennedy by Dorothy Tubridy, a family friend. The President used this ashtray and kept it on his desk in the Oval Office of the White House.
Additional DetailsCustodial History NoteItem was a gift from a member of the general public to the President and Mrs. Kennedy received by the Executive Office of the President betwen 1961-1963 and held by the General Service Administration until it was donated to the John F. Kennedy Presidential Library and Museum by the Estate of President John F. Kennedy in 1965.
