Physical DescriptionQuilt with U.S and Liberian flags in center surrounded by 9 smaller Liberian flags. The Liberian flag looks similar to the US except that it has one single large white star in the blue field as opposed to the US 50 stars. Quilt has a white background and a blue and red border.
Historical NotePresented to President Kennedy by the President of Liberia during his state visit to the White House on October 19, 1961.
Additional DetailsCustodial History NoteItem was a gift to President and Mrs. Kennedy from President William V.S. Tubman, President of Liberia. It was donated to the John F. Kennedy Presidential Library by the Estate of President John F. Kennedy in 1965.
