Physical DescriptionHat of black velvet with cream tulle streamers on each side. Manufacturer's cloth label (Brooks, NY) and elastic chin strap sewn on underside of hat. There are nine dolls and a wooden stork crudely stitched to the top of the hat. The dolls are five girls wearing dresses and blond braids, and four boys wearing short overalls, two of which are made of wax. The stork is white, wears a black top hat, holds a cane with a raised leg made from a metal screw eye.
Historical NoteThis hat was by Mrs. Joseph P. Kennedy in London at a masquerade ball. The dolls represent the nine Kennedy children.
