Historical NoteMayors of American Unity visited the White House and met with President Kennedy on May 25, 1961. At this time they presented President Kennedy with this pledge of unity.

Custodial History NoteItem was a gift from Mayors of Unity presented to the President Kennedy received by the Executive Office of the President in 1961 and held by the General Service Administration until it was donated to the John F. Kennedy Presidential Library and Museum by the Estate of President John F. Kennedy in 1965.
