Historical NoteThe 1956 Democratic National Convention nominated former Governor Adlai Stevenson of Illinois for president and Senator Estes Kefauver of Tennessee for vice president. It was held in the International Amphitheatre on the South Side of Chicago, Illinois August 13–August 17, 1956.
Additional DetailsCustodial History NoteThis badge was given to Raymond O'Connell by Senator John F. Kennedy during the convention in Chicago, he then gave it to President Kennedy, it was in the Oval Office at the time of the assasination, transferred to the government by the Estate of President John F. Kennedy.
