Physical DescriptionPass and Schedule are enclosed in a crocodile leather case embossed "JFK" on front and American League on inside flap. Schedule is contained in the inside left pocket in a separate crocodile case. The pass reads; "1961 Annual Pass to All Grounds/ American League Professional Baseball Clubs/ the President and Party." Pass is signed by E.R. Quesada of the Washington Senators and Joseph E. Cronin, President of the American Baseball League.
Historical NotePresident Kennedy was presented with this American League Season Pass for the 1961 baseball season. Presentation took place in the Oval Office on April 7, 1961. Those present at the time were: General Manager of the Washington Senators baseball team Ed Doherty; majority owner of the Washington Senators franchise General Elwood R. “Pete” Quesada; President of the American League Joseph Cronin; American League Public Relations representative Joseph McKenney.
Additional DetailsCustodial History NoteItem was a gift from a member of the general public to the President and Mrs. Kennedy received by the Executive Office of the President betwen 1961-1963 and held by the General Service Administration until it was donated to the John F. Kennedy Presidential Library and Museum by the Estate of President John F. Kennedy in 1965.
