Physical DescriptionA desk ornament with a 14k gold medallion embedded in lucite. The medallion commemorates the 50th anniversary of Naval aviation 1911-1961.
Historical NoteThis medal was originally presented to President Kennedy in the Oval Office by President of the Navy League, Frank G. Jameson. Naval Aide to the President, Tazewell Shepard was also present during the presentation. President Kennedy received this medal on May 10, 1961.
Additional DetailsCustodial History NoteThis item is material associated with the White House the Kennedy Administration and the Executive Offices of the President. It was either government property or was donated to the John F. Kennedy Presidential Library and Museum by the Estate of President John F. Kennedy in 1965.
