Physical DescriptionMirrored glass tray with glass railed sides. Center of tray is etched with Presidential seal, and along outer edge are etched the insignias of the Federal departments. Tray is set on metal springs. Mirror is etched with inscription on right side "Presented to the Honorable John F. Kennedy President of the United States on the occasion of his birthday May 29, 1961 by Vice President Lyndon B. Johnson on behalf of The Members of the Cabinet." Part of a set of three pieces: two pitchers and a tray.

Additional DetailsCustodial History NoteItem was a gift from Vice President Lyndon B. Johnson to President Kennedy received as a gift for his birthday in 1961. It was held by the General Service Administration until it was donated to the John F. Kennedy Presidential Library and Museum by the Estate of President John F. Kennedy in 1965.
