Historical NoteThis photograph, among the group that first documented the presence of nuclear missiles in Cuba, was presented to President Kennedy by the Light Photographic Squadron, 62 which was responsible for the Navy aerial photographic intelligence surveying Cuba during the Cuban Missile Crisis.
Additional DetailsCustodial History NoteItem was documentation gathered from the Navy intelligence during the Kennedy Administration. It was transferred to the General Service Administration and held until it was donated to the John F. Kennedy Presidential Library and Museum by the Estate of President John F. Kennedy in 1965.
