Physical DescriptionFemale Peruvian Indian doll with cloth body wearing a cotton blouse, grey and red wool jacket, and a royal blue skirt. The doll has a multicolored shawl wrapped around her shoulders and pinned in the front with a pin adorned with a coin. The doll has black yarn hair and wears a hat. Carried on her back is a baby doll wearing a yellow wool gown and crochet cap. In her right hand the doll is carrying a pottery pot.
Historical NoteThis doll was presented to Caroline Kennedy by the First Lady of Peru in September 1961
Additional DetailsCustodial History NoteItem was a gift to President and Mrs. Kennedy from Manuel Prado Ugarteche, President of Peru. It was donated to the John F. Kennedy Presidential Library by the Estate of President John F. Kennedy in 1965.
