Physical DescriptionPresentation Arabian saif sword with an extremely long, palash type, single edged copper blade. The sword has a pistol handled hilt with scrolled cross-guard decorated with rhinestones. The scabbard is decorated with hatched lines of rhinestones wrapping around it, and it has two loops to attach a carrying belt.
Historical NoteThis sword was presented to President Kennedy by King Saud of Saudi Arabia on February 13, 1962, during the King's state visit to the White House.

Custodial History NoteItem was a gift to the President and Mrs. Kennedy from 8. It was donated to the John F. Kennedy Presidential Library and Museum in 1995 by the Estate of Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis.
