Physical DescriptionPair of slippers with hammered silver uppers decorated with a silver bow with a brass crescent and star in the center. The slippers have a red velvet lining and brown leather soles.
Historical NoteThese slippers were presented as a gift for the First Lady Jacqueline Kennedy by the Crown Prince of Libya during his state visit to the White House on October 16, 1962.
Additional DetailsCustodial History NoteItem was a gift to President and Mrs. Kennedy from His Royal Highness Crown Prince Hassan as-Senussi, Crown Prince of the United Kingdom of Libya. It was donated to the John F. Kennedy Presidential Library by the Estate of President John F. Kennedy in 1965.
