Physical DescriptionKris with a wavy edge blade encased in a sheath. The hilt, shaped in a human figure, is gilded and inlaid with precious stones. The sheath is comprised by a large ivory cross-piece and a gilded stem inlaid with precious stones.
Historical NoteThis kris was presented as a gift to President Kennedy by President Sukarno of Indonesia during his state visit to the White House on April 24, 1961.

Custodial History NoteItem was a gift to the President and Mrs. Kennedy from President Sukarno of Indonesia in 1961. It was donated to the John F. Kennedy Presidential Library and Museum in 1995 by the Estate of Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis.
