Physical DescriptionNecklace made of nine flat ivory disc beads graduated toward front. The set includes a matching bracelet and a pair of ivory disc earrings with clip-on backs.
Historical NoteThis jewelry was presented to Jacqueline Kennedy by El-Ferik Ibrahim Abboud, Prime Minister of Sudan (Nov. 1958-Oct. 1964), during his state visit to the White House on October 4, 1961.
Additional DetailsCustodial History NoteItem was a gift from a foreign official to the President and First Lady received through the Executive office during the Kennedy Administration and transferred to the General Service Administration where it was held until donated to the John F. Kennedy Presidential Library and Museum by the Estate of President John F. Kennedy in 1965.
