Physical DescriptionBlack and white portrait photograph of the last Shah of Iran, Mohammad Reza Pahlavi dressed in full dress uniform. The photograph is inscribed by the Shah "To President John F. Kennedy with the expression of my thanks and deep admiration" on the upper left corner. The photograph is in a silver frame with a gold Persian crown insignia in relief on upper edge.
Historical NoteThis photograph was presented to President John F. Kennedy by Shah Reza Pahlavi, Shah of Iran (1941-1979) during his state visit to the White House on April 14, 1962.
Additional DetailsCustodial History NoteItem was a gift to President and Mrs. Kennedy from Mohammad Reza Pahlavi, Shah of Iran. It was donated to the John F. Kennedy Presidential Library by the Estate of President John F. Kennedy in 1965.
