Physical DescriptionCast bronze votive figurine of Herakles with a Nemean lion skin draped over his left arm. His club is missing from his right hand. Statuette is mounted on a purple porphyry base.
Historical NotePurchased by President Kennedy during his 1963 trip to Italy and displayed in his Oval Office of the White House.
Additional DetailsCustodial History NoteItem was owned by President Kennedy. It was donated to the John F. Kennedy Presidential Library and Museum in 1965 by the Estate of President John F. Kennedy.
