Physical DescriptionDictaphone, model 117000, type P6, serial #612187, with 4 blue plastic dictabelts (1 is used), and a handheld microphone and cord. It is a dictation machine, a sound recording device used to record speech to be played back or typed into print. Recordings were made onto dictabelts, by cutting grooves onto plastic belts. Used by President Kennedy in the Oval Office.
