Physical DescriptionRectangular piece of white silk cloth screen-printed with a black and white image of the head of John F. Kennedy flanked by the Irish and United States flags at center. The Gaelic welcome "Cead Mile Failte" in green script arcs across the top edge, which translates to A Hundred Thousand Welcomes.
Historical NoteThis parade banner wecomed President Kennedy to Ireland during his state visit in June of 1963.
Additional DetailsCustodial History NoteItem was collected by the officials of the Kennedy Administration in Ireland during President Kennedy's state visit in 1963 and held by the General Service Administration until it was donated to the John F. Kennedy Presidential Library and Museum by the Estate of President John F. Kennedy in 1965.
