Physical DescriptionTypewritten letter mounted with a color photograph of Franklin D. Roosevelt above the letter. Letter is signed and dated by Governor Franklin D. Roosevelt, then the governor of New York. The letter includes FDR's bookplate in lower left corner opposite his signature, the book plate explained in the letter is "the Roosevelt Coat of Arms together with the fouled anchor and stars of the flag of the Assistant Secretary of the Navy".
Additional DetailsCustodial History NoteItem was a gift from a member of the general public to the President and Mrs. Kennedy received by the Executive Office of the President in 1963 and held by the General Service Administration until it was donated to the John F. Kennedy Presidential Library and Museum by the Estate of President John F. Kennedy in 1965.
