Physical DescriptionWWII Flare gun used as part of a distress signal kit. Both grip panels are marked "International Flare Signal Co / Tippecanoe City Ohio". The left side of the barrel assembly at the frame is marked "PT 11014 /Dec 42". "109" is stamped below the "PT".
Historical NoteThese types of flare guns were made for commercial and military wartime use. This gun has no documented provenance that it was used aboard PT 109.
Additional DetailsCustodial History NoteDonor purchased flare gun from eBay, there is no documentation that gun was used on PT 109. The flare gun was donated to the John F. Kennedy Presidential Library in 2016.
