Physical DescriptionMolded plastic mask of the face of Jacqueline Kennedy with eyes cut out for viewing and a small hole in the mouth.
Historical NoteMasks in the images of John F. and Jacqueline Kennedy were made in America by large Halloween costume manufacturers like Collegeville, Ben Cooper Inc., H. Halpern Co. (Halco) and an unknown number of smaller firms. At least one company, Ben Cooper Inc., destroyed its remaining stock of Kennedy masks after the President Kennedy's assassination. The donor of this mask, Rebecca Stoll, wore it as a child on Halloween in 1963.
Additional DetailsCustodial History NoteItem was sent via the mail to the John F. Kennedy Presidential Library and Museum, Boston, MA by a private citizen. The mask was purchased and worn by the owner in 1963.
