The note written in pencil on White House letterhead reads: Dear Grandpa --/ With you + the W. House/ and the Washington monument/ + a bevy of grandchildren/ a photographers dream come true XO/ Jackie.”
Historical NoteThis photograph was given to Joseph P. Kennedy by Jacqueline Kennedy as a gift in 1961. The photograph hung in the Kennedy Family home in Hyannisport, MA

Custodial History NoteItem was given to the John F. Kennedy LIbrary Foundation by Victoria Reggie Kennedy who obtained it through the estate of her husband, Senator Edward Kennedy. It was donated to the government by the John F. Kennedy Library Foundation in 2023. According to Eileen Driscoll, Cape House Project Manager, Edward M. Kennedy Institute for the United States Senate, Inc., the photo was displayed in the sunroom of Joseph and Rose Kennedy’s Hyannis Port house. It was reframed with the original note sometime after 2014.
