Physical DescriptionCaption: "Casting The Shadow Before". The shadow of a man (Honey Fitz) testing the edge of an axe, falls on a window of a building, "City Hall". On a chopping block are papers, "Secretary's Salary", "Clerk Salary", "Sec. Salary". Standing before the window are three anxious men, "Office Seeker", "Pol"(who states "This Is So Sudden"), and a figure resembling George Hibbard, with a paper in his pocket, "1808 Votes For Economy", who laments "He Refuses To Be Warned By My Fate!".

Custodial History NoteItem was received through Senator Edward M. Kennedy's office. It was held by the John F. Kennedy Presidential Library Archives until it was transferred to the Museum Collection in 2024.
