Physical DescriptionAn A- line sleeveless evening dress in mauve silk gazar gathered to a ruffle at waist and finished with a bow. The dress is lined with taffeta. This dress was modeled after a spring 1962 dress by an Italian designer, Federico Forquet. Cassini's use of the gazar- a ridgid silk weave gives structure to the dress.
Historical NoteThis dress was worn by First Lady Jacqueline Kennedy to the State Dinner honoring Grand Duchess Charlotte of Luxembourg at the White House on April 30, 1963.
Additional DetailsCustodial History NoteItem is from the personal collection of President and Mrs. Kennedy. It was donated to the John F. Kennedy Presidential Library and Museum by the Estate of President John F. Kennedy in 1965.
