Physical DescriptionInlaid wood likeness of John F. Kennedy with his has hands clasped in prayer. Letter attached to back reads: 'Hereby I present to you this modest picture, the work of my hands, as a token of the highest esteem and admiration I feel for your outstanding personality and your intense endeavours for the world peace and for saving humanity from the terrible disaster of war. I allow myself to congratulate you on the tremendous achievement of the American astrounaut John Glen hoping it will bring world peace nearer to us.'
Additional DetailsCustodial History NoteItem was a gift from a member of the general public to the President and Mrs. Kennedy received by the Executive Office of the President betwen 1961-1963 and held by the General Service Administration until it was donated to the John F. Kennedy Presidential Library and Museum by the Estate of President John F. Kennedy in 1965.
