Physical DescriptionSpoon for christening cup. The front and back of the handle, and top of the spoon are decorated with foliated engraving. Along with the cup, this spoon was originally given to the Duke and Duchess of Devonshire at the christening of their son, William Hartington, by the Czar of Russia.
Historical NoteThis spoon was given to Tayna Pitt Dobbs, who donated it to the JFK Library, by Kathleen Kennedy Hartington when they were stationed together working for the American Red Cross in London. It was originally given to the Duke and Duchess of Devonshire at the christening of their son, William Hartington, by the Czar of Russia.
Additional DetailsCustodial History NoteItem was donated to the John F. Kennedy Presidential Library and Museum by Tanya Dobbs in 1999 who received it as a gift from Kathleen Kennedy Hartington.
