Physical DescriptionBlackthorn walking stick with a curved root-ball handle. There is a silver band just below the handle engraved "Presented by the Relatives of President John F. Kennedy on the Occasion of his Visit to the Ancestral Home 27-6-63."
Historical NoteThis traditional blackthorn walking stick was presented to President Kennedy by his cousin Jimmy Kennedy during a visit to the Kennedy family's Irish homestead in Dunganstown, County Wexford.

Custodial History NoteThe item was a gift from the general public to President John F. Kennedy during his term in office. It was received by the White House Gift Unit, until it was donated to the John F. Kennedy Presidential Library and Museum by the Estate of President John F. Kennedy in 1965.
