Physical DescriptionShield shaped wood plaque with metal emblem of the aircraft carrier USS Kitty Hawk (CV 63) in center. Emblem shows the site of Kitty Hawk, North Carolina with a depiction of the Wright brothers airplane in center. Brass plate affixed to shield below emblem is engraved 'Presented to President John F. Kennedy 6 June 1963'.
Historical NoteThis plaque was presented to President Kennedy on June 6, 1963 aboard the aircraft carrier U.S.S. Kitty Hawk.

Custodial History NoteThis item is material associated with the White House the Kennedy Administration and the Executive Offices of the President. It was either government property or was donated to the John F. Kennedy Presidential Library and Museum by the Estate of President John F. Kennedy in 1965.
