Physical DescriptionUrn-shaped vase on a pedestal base. The vase has a wide flanged rim decorated with pierced open work trimmed in gold. The center of the vase has a band of a floral pattern around the circumference, below which is a scroll leaf pattern in brilliant gold.
Historical NoteThis vase was presented by Konrad Adenauer, Chancellor of the Federal Republic of Germany (1949-1963), to President John F. Kennedy during his state visit to Germany June 23, 1963.
Additional DetailsCustodial History NoteItem was a gift to President and Mrs. Kennedy from Konrad Adenauer, Chancellor of the Federal Republci of Germany. It was donated to the John F. Kennedy Presidential Library by Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis in 1974.
