Physical DescriptionThe obverse profiles of John F. Kennedy, 35th President, and Pope John XXIII, 261st Pope of the Roman Catholic Church, with their terms of office dates in the legend. The reverse depicts the facades of St. Peter's Basilica and the White House, and in the legend: Christian Unity - Civil Liberty, which were two great contributions by the President and the Pope. The medal was cast to memorialize the devotion of these two men to peace among nations.
