Physical DescriptionWatercolor painting of the Green Room of the White House. This painting is one of a series of paintings depicting the newly-refurbished public rooms of the White House, commissioned from the artist by First Lady Jacqueline Kennedy.
Historical NoteJacqueline Kennedy commissioned artist Edward Lehman (American, 1914-2000) to create a series of watercolors of the restored White House interiors. She had admired his sleek pen-and-ink studies in an article on the progress of the White House project in the Philadelphia Inquirer.

Custodial History NoteThis item is material associated with the White House the Kennedy Administration and the Executive Offices of the President. It was either government property or was donated to the John F. Kennedy Presidential Library and Museum by the Estate of President John F. Kennedy in 1965.
