Historical NoteJacqueline Kennedy commissioned artist Edward Lehman (American, 1914-2000) to create a series of watercolors of the restored White House interiors. She had admired his sleek pen-and-ink studies in an article on the progress of the White House project in the Philadelphia Inquirer.
Additional DetailsCustodial History NoteItem was donated to the John F. Kennedy Presidential Library and Museum by the Estate of President John F. Kennedy. Item was previously owned by First Lady Jacqueline Kennedy.
